    On February 14th, Her Excellency Devi Savitri Wahab, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia, accompanied by her delegation, made a scheduled visit to the Kaunas Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts. Her Excellency  was warmly welcomed by Mr. Zigmantas Dargevičius, President of Kaunas Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts, Mr. Vydas Damalakas, Vice President, and General Director Olga Grigienė. The Honorary Consul of the Republic of Indonesia in Lithuania, Mrs. Vytautė Stankaitienė,  was also invited to the reception.

    The primary purpose of this significant meeting was to discuss the ongoing collaboration established last autumn between the Kaunas Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts and Indonesian businesses and to explore new avenues fostering closer cooperation between Lithuanian and Indonesian enterprises, with a particular focus on enhancing bilateral trade relations.

    In October 2023, Kaunas Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Copenhagen, organized a successful company mission to Indonesia. This mission resulted in the signing of a pivotal cooperation agreement between the The Association of Lithuanian Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Crafts and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN). The main purpose of this agreement was to  promote closer business cooperation and to strengthen economic ties between Lithuania and Indonesia.

    The business mission included participation in the European – Indonesian Business Forum and TRADE EXPO INDONESIA exhibition, company visits in Jakarta and productive B2B meetings with selected Indonesian counterparts.

    It was highlighted during the meeting that the collaboration between Lithuanian and Indonesian enterprises, initiated last October, has been progressing remarkably well, with the anticipation of signing several more cooperation agreements in the near future.

    Mr. Zigmantas Dargevičius, the President of Kaunas Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts, reiterated the organization’s commitment to exploring diverse cooperation prospects aimed at strengthening economic bonds between two nations. He emphasized the warm invitation to Indonesian business delegations, affirming their always – welcome status in Lithuania.

    It is expected that the existing cooperation will continue further catalyzing the rapid growth of bilateral trade between Lithuania and Indonesia.
