On the 11th of May, the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Her Excellency Noora Mohammed Abdulhamid Juma visited the Kaunas Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts.
The purpose of the visit was to meet with members of the Lithuania–United Arab Emirates Business Council, discuss current regional issues and assess further opportunities for bilateral economic cooperation.
During the meeting, a lot of attention was given to Lithuania’s business opportunities in the UAE market. It was highlighted in the discussions that UAE is one of the most important business and innovation platforms in the Middle East, opening broad opportunities for the technology, logistics, healthcare, green innovation, manufacturing and service sectors.
The Ambassador emphasized that Lithuania and the Baltic States are not well known among the business community of the UAE, therefore it is crucial to strengthen economic ties, increase business visibility and more actively present the region’s potential in the international markets. According to her, greater mutual understanding can serve as an important basis for new partnerships and investments.
The participants of the meeting also discussed the need to organize more business missions, B2B meetings and other joint events, which would help Lithuanian companies connect with partners the UAE and better understand Lithuania’s business culture and market specifics.
During the meeting, the President of the Kaunas Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts, Zigmantas Dargevičius, stated that this partnership and Her Excellency’s visit will be a significant step in strengthening bilateral dialogue and would contribute to the development of mutually beneficial cooperation.
Chairman of the Lithuania–United Arab Emirates Business Council and Vice President of the Kaunas Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts, Vidas Butkus, confirmed the commitment to further strengthen and develop the activities of Lithuania – United Arab Emirates Business Council. He highlighted that the Council’s activities are being developed in a focused manner, and that even small but continuous steps help to achieve significant results in strengthening business relations between Lithuania and the UAE.
