    On April 24, 2026, members of the European Business Network (EBN) visited the Kaunas Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts.

    EBN is an initiative of the ambassadors of Austria, Estonia, Ireland, Belgium, Spain and Ukraine, which connects business communities in Lithuania, supports them, and helps Lithuanian companies to develop trade and investment activities.

    The Executive director of the European Business Network (EBN), Member of Parliament Jekaterina Rojaka, EBN Board Member Ieva Balčiūnaitė (lawyer, „Vilnius Law“) and EBN Board Member Rūta Šantaraitė („Accor Novotel Vilnius“) attended the meeting.

    Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of Ireland Shane Sweeney, Commercial Counsellor of the Embassy of Austria Thomas Spazier as well as Head of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy of Spain Jaime Ramón Fernández Sánchez together with three representatives of the Embassy of Spain also attended the meeting.

    The General Secretary of Kaunas Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts Rimas Varkulevičius moderated the meeting. He presented Kaunas region’s competitiveness, business environment and development possibilities. He also emphasized the strategic location of Kaunas region, strong industrial and innovation base and increasing possibilities of international cooperation.

    During the presentation, the Chamber’s strategic role in bringing together the business community and encouraging companies to grow, export, develop innovations as well as create favorable conditions for international cooperation and search for new markets, was discussed.

    The General Secretary also emphasized the cooperation between Lithuania’s universities and the business community. He noted that this partnership creates favorable conditions for economic development. It was highlighted that Kaunas is one of the main production and logistics centers in Lithuania. The city has industrial companies across various sectors – from light industry to advanced engineering solutions. The city’s well-developed infrastructure, including cargo terminals and logistics centers, ensures the smooth and efficient movement of goods both within the country and across international markets.

    The Director of „Kaunas IN“,Tadas Stankevičius, presented Kaunas region’s potential and the main directions for its development. He emphasized the city’s economic growth and favorable investment environment.  He also presented the most important innovation projects, including – the “Alex” Innovation Park, which is considered a strategically important location and is planned to become an office for one of Kaunas’ most prospective companies, “Teltonika”.

    He emphasized the internationalization of Kaunas’ leading universities — Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, Vytautas Magnus University, and Kaunas University of Technology — the increasing interest among international students, the city’s advanced healthcare system, the strategic role of Hospital of Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, Kauno Klinikos and the growing impact of tourists in Kaunas.”

    Lithuania’s companies’ representatives from textile, services and manufacturing sectors also participated in the meeting. They had a possibility to present their companies’ activities and express their interests in the specific markets represented by the guests.

    The Members of the European Business Network (EBN) showed interest in the business environment and companies represented by the Kaunas Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts, as well as in regional exhibitions, strategic infrastructure, investment opportunities and the conditions for foreign companies to establish operations. During the meeting, they expressed their support for further cooperation and their willingness to contribute to business development and the strengthening of international partnerships.

    The Executive director of the European Business Network, Jekaterina Rojaka, expressed her admiration for the Kaunas region’s potential and satisfaction with the constructive meeting, expressing hope for further joint initiatives.
