On October 7, Kaunas Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts hosted a business delegation from Toruń (Poland) for the first time. The purpose of the visit was to become acquainted with the business environment of the Kaunas region, learn about the activities of Kaunas Chamber, and establish connections with companies that have business interests in the Toruń region.
The delegation included representatives of the Toruń Business Support Center, the Toruń Chamber of Commerce, the International Drone Organization, as well as specialists in the railway transport industry. These highly qualified experts are responsible for attracting investments to the region, promoting innovation, and strengthening international cooperation.
During the event, the economic profile of the Kaunas region was presented, highlighting its key strengths – engineering industry, information technology, life sciences, and innovative business.
At the Kaunas Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts, the delegation was introduced to the Chamber’s activities and its key mission of promoting business development in the region. The Chamber’s role in representing the interests of companies both nationally and internationally, fostering business community relations, and creating a favorable business environment was emphasized.
The Kaunas Science and Technology Park – one of Lithuania’s main centers for innovation, technological development, and the startup ecosystem – also presented its activities. The delegation was introduced to the Aleksotas Innovation Industrial Park, currently under development in the Aleksotas district of Kaunas. This park will become a major hub for high-value-added industries and innovative businesses, aiming to attract investment, create new jobs, and promote the growth of advanced technologies in the region.
Members of the Toruń delegation gave detailed presentations about their respective organizations, the region’s economic potential, and possible directions for cooperation. Special attention was devoted to railway and tram transport solutions, opportunities for developing the business services sector, the activities of the Toruń Chamber of Commerce, and identifying potential points of collaboration.
The Toruń region stands out for its diversified economy, featuring strong sectors in food, chemicals, industrial engineering, and logistics, as well as a rapidly growing IT and business services industry. The region also boasts significantly higher education and research potential – it is home to Nicolaus Copernicus University, which develops a skilled workforce and fosters innovation.
Its geographical location between Warsaw, Gdańsk, and Poznań, combined with strong infrastructure, free economic zones, and technology parks, makes Toruń an attractive region for international business.
Both sides expressed interest in further cooperation, discussing possibilities for business missions, joint projects, and exchange initiatives between innovative companies and business support institutions.
Such meetings serve as an important bridge between cities, opening new opportunities to develop innovations, strengthen business relations, and create shared success stories for both regions.
