On April 15, as part of the CLIMPs project, a business delegation from Turkey visited Kaunas Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts. The delegation included representatives from the Kocaeli region municipality, the industrial sector, the oil company TUPRAS, Chamber of Commerce, and a university.
The project “CLIMPs – Twin Program for a 2030 Climate Change Action Plan Model on Industrial Manufacturing Platforms” is implemented under the EU-Turkey Twinning Town Programme. The project aims to strengthen the green transformation in industry and to foster sustainable cooperation between Turkey and EU countries.
The purpose of the visit was to establish connections with Lithuanian industrial companies, exchange best practices in the areas of climate change and sustainability, and discuss potential forms of collaboration.
The Turkish delegation was particularly interested in learning about eco-friendly solutions applied by Lithuanian companies, such as improving energy efficiency, using renewable resources, recycling waste, and implementing other circular economy practices.
Members of the Chamber – UAB “Gerovė”, UAB “Audimas Supply”, and AB “Kauno Grūdai” – shared their sustainability practices with the Turkish delegation. Živilė Ramoškienė, head of MB “Ecogrant”, presented certification services, while Dr. Joana Ramanauskaitė, a representative of Kaunas University of Technology, provided an overview of sustainable organizations in Lithuania.
It was agreed to continue exchanging information and exploring mutual cooperation opportunities in the future.
