On March 18, a meeting with Canadian Ambassador to Lithuania Jeanette Sautner was held at the Kaunas Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts. Senior Policy and Public Relations Officer Rūta Bulbovienė and Canadian Embassy Trade representative Eglė Jurkevičienė also attended the visit.
Zigmantas Dargevičius, the President of the Kaunas Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Crafts, opened the event by stressing the region’s economic dynamism and its strong positions in the areas of industry, innovation, logistics, and education. He has also highlighted the significance of universities and cutting-edge businesses operating in the area. Additionally, he highlighted the size and range of services offered by the Kaunas Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Crafts, which he described as the biggest institution bringing the local business community together. The President has stressed that the chamber community actively works to form partnerships, collaborative projects and investment initiatives.
Joremita Ona Urmonaitė from Kaunas IN has presented the business environment in the Kaunas region, emphasizing the region’s advantages in manufacturing, infrastructure and technology.
In her speech, Ambassador J. Sautner has highlighted Canada’s interest to increase collaboration with Europe and the Baltic nations, has stressed the significance of current initiatives and has indicated interest in taking part in future collaborative projects. Additionally, the ambassador has conveyed her support for Lithuanian businesses operating in the Canadian market and offered the embassy’s help.
Companies from the IT, ICT, logistics, fertilizer sector, plastics, publishing, paper industry, pharmaceuticals, and artificial intelligence (AI) industries attended the gathering. The presentations covered partnerships, export prospects and opportunities in the Canadian market.
