19 March. A Ukrainian business delegation visited Kaunas Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts to establish and strengthen business cooperation contacts in Lithuania.
The meetings were organised by the Enterprise Europe Network together with its partners – GIZ and the Lithuanian Innovation Centre, which are currently implementing the initiative “Strengthening the capacity of Ukrainian business entities”. The objectives of the project are to facilitate effective business integration and trade links for Ukrainian SMEs in European and global markets and to provide expertise and guidance to strengthen the organisational capacity of clusters, promote networking and cooperation opportunities and support internationalisation efforts. The project is co-funded by the EU-BMZ GIZ “EU4Business” programme.
Members of the Ukrainian business delegation represented the IT and software, agriculture, food and drink, furniture manufacturing, construction and real estate, steel, machinery, automation and maritime and heavy industry sectors.
18 companies attended the meeting at Kaunas Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts. The guests were welcomed by Zigmantas Dargevičius, President of Kaunas Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts. “Cooperation between Ukrainian and Lithuanian businesses has a lot of potential for growth. We are ready to help, so you can always contact us”, – said the President of Kaunas Chamber of Commerce and Industry, wishing productive meetings.
Andrius Veršinskas, Head of Business Department of Kaunas IN, also participated in the meeting and presented Kaunas region. The presentation of the 2nd largest city in Lithuania, the 4th largest in the Baltic States and the 8th largest in the Baltic and Scandinavian countries was very well received. Kaunas is a growing city with an excellent business infrastructure, a network of talent-rich universities and a favourable geographical location.
Vytautas Petružis, Managing Director of Kaunas Free Economic Zone Management UAB, presented the Kaunas Free Economic Zone, which has 56 investors, 1.56 billion invested and 9,500 full-time equivalents created. The full presentation can be found HERE.
Short presentations by Ukrainian and Lithuanian companies were followed by 49 B2B meetings, which are expected to grow into beautiful business partnerships in the future.
