On December 9, accompanied by the Vice-President of the Kaunas Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts and Chairman of the Lithuania–UAE Business Council, Vidas Butkus, a representative of the United Arab Emirates, Dr. Ahmed Osama Alqasabi, visited Kaunas Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts.
The purpose of the visit was to evaluate possible cooperation directions, explore potential import and export opportunities between Lithuania and the Middle East region, and gain a better understanding of the Lithuanian business environment and the specifics of local companies’ activities.
During the meeting, the guest was introduced to the economic potential of the Kaunas region, as well as its industry and innovation sectors. Also presented were the activities of Kaunas Chamber and its role in strengthening international business cooperation.
Currently, UAE companies have expressed interest in various general trade sectors — ranging from raw materials such as leather and textiles, to natural food products, consumer goods, and certain electronics categories — but remain open to other potential partnerships.
During the visit, possible further cooperation directions were discussed, including the expansion of business contacts and the establishment of new trade links between Lithuania and the UAE. The meeting marked an important step in strengthening dialogue and seeking mutually beneficial solutions.
