  • Kaunas Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Fukuyama Chamber of Commerce and Industry

    On October 14, Zigmantas Dargevičius, the president of Kaunas Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts (KCCIC), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Fukuyama Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan. The formal meeting, which included the mayor of Fukuyama, the president of Fukuyama City Council, a delegation of representatives from Fukuyama Chamber of Commerce and Industry and KCCIC vice presidents and board members, resulted in a mutual commitment to deepen bilateral relations in economics, education, culture and to exchange relevant information.

    President Zigmantas Dargevičius emphasized shared values and close political, economic and historical ties between Lithuania and Japan. ,,I believe that Lithuania and Japan can strengthen cooperation in trade, investment, technology, culture and education,  as well as tap into untapped synergy in areas such as energy, transport and logistics, the food industry, life sciences and finance”, said Zigmantas Dargevičius as he welcomed the distinguished guests. The honorary consul general of Japan, who is also the  president of Fukuyama Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the president and CEO of Fukuyama Transporting Co., Ltd., Mr. Shigehiro Komaru, who signed the MoU, agreed that this step would elevate cooperation between two chambers to the next level.

    The mayor of Fukuyama town, Mr. Naoki Edahiro, expressed his pleasure in witnessing this agreement and, recognizing Kaunas` growth and prosperity, pledged efforts to promote collaboration between the two sides.

    President Zigmantas Dargevičius further expressed confidence that the signing of this MoU would serve as a solid foundation for a stronger and more dynamic business ties between Lithuania and Japan. He emphasized that Kaunas Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts is open to all opportunities that could strengthen economic relations between Lithuania and Japan and reminded that business delegations from Japan will always be welcomed here in Lithuania.
