On the 3rd of March, a delegation from the Republic of Turkey, headed by H.E. Esra Toplu, Ambassador of Turkey to Lithuania, visited Kaunas Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts.
The delegation included Gökhan Karaca, Trade Counsellor, representatives of the Turkey–Lithuania Business Council, and a Turkey–Lithuania Chamber of Commerce delegation consisting of 15 businesspeople representing the financial and banking, fast-moving consumer goods production and distribution, automotive parts industry, aviation and air transport, logistics, human resources, digital technologies, software, legal services, and renewable energy sectors.
The wide range of sectors represented a mutual interest in fostering cooperation, developing trade and implementing joint projects across various areas of economy.
Zigmantas Dargevičius, President of the Kaunas Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts welcomed Turkey Ambassador and the delegation, emphasizing the growing business community’s interest in international relations and expressing his expectation for mutual beneficial cooperation and development of long-term partnerships.
He noted that future cooperation between the Chambers of Commerce could serve as a solid foundation for partnerships between companies from both countries aimed at promoting exports and encouraging other potential joint initiatives.
During the meeting, the Ambassador with the delegation presented the main Turkey’s economic development directions and the sectors considered most important for the bilateral cooperation and investments. The significant attention was paid to strengthen cooperation between the Chambers – signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), participating in joint exhibitions and business events, sharing market intelligence and information on trusted business partners, and further strengthening direct B2B contacts between companies in both countries.
Ambassador emphasized Turkey as a strategic market and important regional center among Europe, Asia and Middle East, inviting Lithuanian companies to take advantage of Turkey’s strong logistics and manufacturing capacity and expand their business activities in cooperation with local partners. He also noted that dialogue between Chambers can ensure foundation for the mutual trust between the business communities and sustainable, long-term partnerships.
Meeting concluded with an exchange of contacts, mutual commitment to strengthening future cooperation and implementing joint projects.
