On November 3–6, Kaunas Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Norway and Commercial Attaché Martyna Budnikaitė, organized a business mission to Norway for companies in the construction sector.

The mission involved 12 members of Kaunas Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts, representing construction, wood, plastic, metal, building demolition, and advertising production industries.

During the mission, the companies visited advanced Norwegian construction and infrastructure firms. A special visit was organized to “Kristian August 13”, the first fully implemented recycled materials project in Norway, managed by the innovative FutureBuilt program, which showcases the country’s sustainable construction revolution.

The delegation also met with Statsbygg, Norway’s leading construction developer overseeing approximately 100 of the country’s largest and most complex ongoing projects. Additionally, the companies visited Oslo Municipality’s Planning and Development Department, where they gained valuable insights and guidance on public procurement procedures, enhancing their preparedness for business opportunities in Norway.

The participants toured Norsk Hyttesenter, the largest year-round exhibition of holiday homes typical of the Scandinavian region, showcasing models from 30 leading Norwegian manufacturers. This visit provided opportunities to network with industry leaders and learn more about market trends and consumer preferences in Norway.

The business mission included meetings with Martin Bodd, Lithuania’s Honorary Consul in Oslo, representatives from the Lithuanian Embassy in Norway – Commercial Attaché Martyna Budnikaitė and Economic Diplomat Neringa Urbonienė – as well as Simona Simonavičiūtė, Director of Lithuanian–Norwegian Chamber of Commerce. These meetings offered valuable insights into the nuances of the Norwegian market and business opportunities for Lithuanian companies.

On November 5, the delegation participated in “Future of the Norwegian Construction Industry” international conference dedicated to the construction sector and engaged in B2B meetings with Norwegian companies. The event also provided an opportunity to connect with Lithuanian entrepreneurs successfully operating in Norway, expanding their network of contacts in the region.
