On the 31st of May Kaunas Chamber of Commerce, Industry and crafts accepted the representatives from the embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which is also accredited to the Republic of Tajikistan, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Uzbekistan. Mr. Julius Mitė, the Attaché for political and economic affairs, was accompanied by the Transport Attaché, Mr. Aleksandras Stupenko, who is also responsible for economic issues.
The purpose of the visit was to know more about the activities of Kaunas Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts and to better understand the interests of its business community in the Central Asia.
During the meeting the current issues and the specifics of the region together with the planned transportation infrastructure projects for better cargo delivery were discussed with the Vice President of Kaunas Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts, Mr. Vydas Damalakas, the General Director Mrs Olga Grigienė and the business company JSC Arkama. The discussion about the business interests and the opportunities in this region were presented by the representatives of the embassy.
The meeting concluded with a decision to cooperate more closely in the future by exchanging information and organizing joint initiatives for the companies, interested in Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan markets.
